Lanier Islands

Lake Lanier Island's 1,200 acres are located at the intersection of metro Atlanta and the North Georgia mountains. Within an hour's drive, you can be in downtown Atlanta, the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, and a variety of hiking, biking, and OHV trails.  Chicopee, Blankets Creek and Big Creek are all nearby for mountain bikers, while the Big Creek and Ivy Creek greenways are nearby as well as dozens of wonderful hiking trails, waterfalls and other natural beauty.  If you want to ride ATV's or MX, Iron Mountain and Durhamtown are a relatively short drive away and offer rentals if needed.

Most activities will take place at the Legacy Lodge. On the Lanier Islands map, we’ve highlighted some of the other key spots as well to give you an idea about the site. It is about 2.5 miles across the islands, so you can drive to different sites, rent a golf cart, ride a bike, or walk. We are working on securing some transportation for scheduled events that are not at the Legacy Lodge. In addition to the event facilities, Lanier Islands Resort also has pools, restaurants, a spa, golf, boating, hiking and the opportunity to road bike.
