Thanks to extensive research and field-testing of mountain bike trail design and construction techniques, IMBA is transforming the way trails are built. Today, properly constructed trails that see heavy use can endure for years with minimal maintenance.

Join IMBA's team of instructors for this three-day Advanced Workshop. Much more than a trailbuilding primer, this course will present how mountain bikers view trails, including a focus on design strategies for creating trails attractive to mountain bikers and success stories from around the world. Discussions will feature retrofitting existing trails for mountain bicycling use, managing for risk, creating diverse trail experiences, and incorporating innovative rock work for challenge and sustainability. An even mix of indoor and outdoor sessions will have participants experiencing trails via bikes, adding challenge to existing trails, and gaining a better understanding of the spectrum of mountain biking on trails.

This three-day workshop is more advanced than a standard IMBA Trailbuilding School. The basic concepts of designing and building sustainable trails presented in an standard IMBA Trailbuilding School will
not be covered, so all attendees are required to have attended a basic Trailbuilding School. Even if you've attended IMBA events in the past, you'll enjoy this unique high level workshop tailored specifically for the experienced attendees of the Western Trailbuilders Association Conference.

Maximum capacity is 45 attendees.

Location
Atlantis Casino Resort, second floor conference level.

Weather and ground conditions for field trips are usually cool, dry, and snow-free. Summarized weather data for February 4 in Reno for years 1994-2003.
