How to Save $ on
Hotel Reservations
When reserving a room at the conference hotel, do NOT mention that you're attending a conference. All of Reno's hotel casinos use low-priced rooms to attract tourists, and these prices are much lower than business travelers usually pay in business-oriented cities, especially on weekdays. If they think you're there on business when you're making reservations, the hotel will quote higher rates than their tourist rates. So unlike conferences elsewhere, don't mention the conference and save $10/night or more. |

How to Use Our “Shopping Cart”
Starting with the next screen, registration uses a "shopping cart" in which you place conference components you want to purchase "in the basket".
Each item has an "Add to Basket" button next to it. Click the appropriate buttons to add items to your "basket". Although you won't see any verification (sorry!), the screen will redraw each time you click an "Add to Basket" button.
To check your basket contents and/or change quantities, click the "Basket Contents" button at the top of the screen.
When you've picked all your conference items, click the "Checkout" button. You'll then be asked for your contact info and, on successive screens, your credit card type and card number. Your credit card info is protected by a secure server.
At the end, you'll see an onscreen receipt which you can print and you should receive an emailed receipt as well.
The "INFO" item: In order to get your nametag info, dietary or special needs, carpooling info, and comments, we created a free "INFO" item. Please select this and provide this info as part of your registration. If you don't select it, you'll be prompted for it after checkout. If you are registering more than one person, select the INFO item for each person and use the "comments" field to tell us which conference components each person will attend. Please be aware that your responses become part of your registration and are printed on your email receipt.
Per diem banquets: If you need to make a separate per diem payment for the banquet, please use the shopping cart twice:
* once for everything but the banquet on your agency card, and
* once for the banquet alone on your personal card.
"Federal" credit cards (issued by Fed. gov't to fed. employees)
We're trying to improve this but here's what we have today (Jan. 7):
Small Purchase Cards: These do work but show a scary-looking "MD5 Hash Mismatch" error. If that happens to you, call the phone number listed on that page and DON'T press the "Continue" button again or your card will be charged twice.
Federal Travel Cards: These currently don't work—sorry.
