Great Results How We Do It

Efficient, Low-Impact Trail Construction

Skilled use of small-scale mechanized equipment minimizes job time, moves material the least number of times, keeps crew size small (often to one person), and avoids creating a mess that has to be cleaned up later. Landowners benefit by quickly obtaining a trail with minimal construction impact.

Takeuchii excavator, rear view

Mini excavator can do heavy work on a narrow trail, even on steep slopes and rocky areas. Rubber tracks are light on the land.

Dingo loader and Morrison dumper

Mini loaders and motorized dumpers make quick work of installing aggregate and bark trail surfaces.

Takeuchi excavator, side view

Mini excavator arm makes it possible to do precise work off the trail without leaving the trailbed. One person can precisely and safely move stones that would normally require a team to move by hand.

Walk-behind excavator

This tiny walk-behind excavator, right, can build trail tread as narrow as 18". Hand tools are also used in tight spaces and final cleanup.

Takeuchi and belly dump Bobcat and trailer
Belly dumps hauled by ATVs spread aggregate quickly and efficiently. Quick loading, transport and delivery minimizes job time.

Honda power carrier Trailbed construction
Rubber-tracked power carriers can deliver hundreds of pounds of materials in a single trip on a trail (even a natural surface trail) as narrow as 24" wide. Most trail construction is performed without leaving the trailbed.
