Trail-Related Employment Wanted Form

Procedure
When you submit the form below, the information comes to PTBA’s webmaster. Assuming that he’s around (which he generally is), your information will be posted quickly. He’ll probably send you an email to notify you that your listing has been posted. Make sure that your email address is correct! If you have any additional comments for the webmaster, you can add them to the Comment field.

Privacy Policy
You are asking to post information on the World Wide Web, so this information will not remain private. Beyond those who come to read the job listing page or those who we direct to the page because it may be in their interest, we will not sell or otherwise disseminate your information in any way inconsistent with such job listings. PTBA’s Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer
PTBA takes no responsibility for errors in these listings. Listing does not constitute an endorsement by PTBA of any person, organization, or entity. Listings and applicants are not screened—PTBA simply passes on information as you supply it to us.

Your likelihood of being approached or hired
PTBA’s own members are mostly small contractors, often one-person or “Mom & Pop” companies who don’t hire any or many trail crew members. Others have a core group of workers who return year after year. Therefore, the statistical likelihood of being hired by a PTBA member is quite small simply because there aren't many openings. There are also trail contractors who aren’t PTBA members, but they tend to also be small operations.

We hope, however, that this page will attract local and state governments who wouldn’t otherwise have a way to find out about you., as well as non-profit organizations or other types of organizations. New jobs are being created in these areas all the time but people are less aware of them. You will probably have to approach them, however, since they are often prohibited by anti-discrimination laws from contacting you personally. Make sure that you check the “Jobs Available” part of the job listing page for possible jobs, too.

ABOUT YOU
Be honest and forthcoming—you’re dealing with real people, not machines. The more that prospective employers know about you, the more likely you are to be approached. If you’re skilled at something, don’t be shy about it. On the other hand, if you have no experience, be honest about that, too. If you’re looking for something specific, you’ll increase your chances of getting it by mentioning it. There isn’t any preset word limit, but overly long entries may be edited for brevity. Otherwise, we’ll post your description as is.

If you have your own website or web page that gives more information specifically on you, you can include the URL and we’ll make it a clickable link. Please do not include URLs for projects that you’ve worked on unless you can direct the reader to a particular page and text/photo that shows/describes your work and illustrates your skill.

Please take the time to check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation—this is your first impression.

*Pertinent background info, skills, and/or experience
Why would someone want to hire you for trail work?

*Your interests—
Type of work desired, location desired and/or willingness to travel, reasons for wanting trail crew work. You don’t have to sterilize your answers. At the same time, though, the virtues of working outdoors with other like-minded people on trail projects of public benefit are well known and hence it doesn't tell us much about you if you spend too much time on that without adding something more personal or unique:

OPTIONAL COMMENTS

Do you have any comments for us, on anything (these will not be part of your listing and are confidential between you and PTBA):
