Job Description
The Anchorage Park Foundation (APF) is recruiting for a seasonal (February - October) full-time (40 hrs. per week, Monday-Friday) Youth Employment in Parks Program Coordinator. This position has the potential to become year round with flexibility during the winter months. Youth Employment in Parks (YEP) is an award winning and nationally recognized youth employment program based in Anchorage, Alaska run by a partnership between APF and the Municipality of Anchorage. The YEP Program Coordinator (PC) will be an integral member of the Youth Employment in Parks program with a variety of duties, including recruitment, training, project planning and implementation, administrative duties, budget management, and program development. This position will work closely with Municipality of Anchorage Parks and Recreation staff and build partnerships with external community organizations and agencies. The PC will help recruit and manage a diverse staff, including crew leaders (19+), senior crew members, and teen crew members (ages 16-19). Must work towards YEP’s mission of positively engaging a new generation of diverse youth conservation leaders and the Anchorage community through meaningful job training, employment, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Closing Date: 1/20/2016. Location: Anchorage, Alaska. Timeline: Minimum of 8 months. February to October (potential to extend.) Compensation: $18-$22 per hour DOE (40 hrs. per week, Monday-Friday)
