Job Title: Seasonal Maintenance Equipment/Motor Vehicle Operator
Job Description: Our Highly Qualified Candidate: is skilled in the use of light, medium and heavy equipment, power tools including chainsaws, motorized equipment such as tractor mowers, mini-excavators, and motorized wheel barrows. They have experience giving direction to contract crews and seasonal staff and have the ability to work well as part of a group while maintaining good communication with co-workers. Experience training others in work and safety procedures, using sound independent judgment within established procedural guidelines, and safely using hand and power tools, including chainsaws in urban and backcountry locations, is essential. The ideal candidate possesses either a Class A or Class B California Driver's License. An Air Brake or Tanker Endorsement is also highly desirable. They will be knowledgeable in fire road maintenance, trail maintenance and construction, as well as general facilities maintenance and construction. This candidate has personal and professional integrity, is highly organized, possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service by working effectively with all visitors and members of the public.
Possession of a valid Class A or B California driver's license and a satisfactory driving history as obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles is required at the time of appointment.
