Trail Construction, Maintenance, and Consulting

Freshly graded trail

Trail Tailor uses the above equipment and a trail paver to build and maintain gravel and asphalt trails:

  • Gravel trails: Gravel surfacing and grading, especially effective in tight access/remote locations, as well as urban/suburban locations
  • Asphalt trails: Subgrade and final grade preparation, plus in-house trail paving
  • Trail consulting
  • Campground maintenance

We work throughout Canada and the United States, and we’re especially interested in winter work in the southern United States.

Feel free to contact us at 1-800-817-4453.

Custom Trail Equipment Sales

“We opened a real can of worms when we bid $26,000 on a city park job and finished it in one day!”

The equipment here changes the way trails are built. It enables you to haul more fill faster and with less effort. Haul gravel a yard at a time and spread it in perfect even layers. Just traveling with a loaded box helps to compact your trail, and the grader eliminates the use of rakes and shovels. Less manual labor, more work accomplished—easier, faster, and more fun.

ATVs, belly dump, end dumpI have hauled more than 15,000 loads with my oldest belly dump and it still works like new. I’ve even flipped a Bobcat over it. Tough isn’t a strong enough word to describe these units.

A private contractor that bought two belly dumps, an end loader and a grader called me a month after he made the purchase. He says, “We opened a real can of worms when we bid $26,000 on a city park job and finished it in one day!” My personal best for hauling with two belly dumps is 300 yards of gravel onto 1.5 miles of trail in 12 hours.

The equipment pays for itself in saved wages and equipment time.
