Job Title: Trails Solutions Construction Manager

Job Description: The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is seeks a Trail Solutions Construction Manager to implement mountain bike trail construction projects and oversee their progress in a cost-effective and timely manner. This remote position will be responsible for creating and meeting budgets, staff management and communication, project implementation and scheduling, logistics and related tasks. This position is a full-time, salaried exempt position making great trails happen. The best thing about our team is that we are driven to deliver quality work, and motivated to constantly improve!

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and direct trail construction projects from conception to completion around the US, sometimes in remote areas
Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
Oversee all onsite and offsite operations to monitor compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Coordinate and direct construction workers, subcontractors, volunteers, and agency partners
Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory
Meet contractual conditions of performance
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Obtain required permits and licenses
Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks in regards to construction and ongoing operations
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper and cost effective trail construction techniques

Experience:
Proven working experience in construction management
Advanced knowledge of trail construction management processes, means, and methods
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
Understanding of all facets of the natural surface trail construction process
Familiarity with construction management software packages
Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
Competent in conflict and crisis management
Leadership and human resources management skills
Excellent time and project management skills
Efficiency oriented
BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
Extensive travel, 2-3 weeks per month (80% worktime will be on road)
Mountain Biking Experience
