Job Title: Field Recreation Specialist
Job Description: The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FP&R) is recruiting for a Field Recreation Specialist position that will be located at the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources district office in Essex Junction. The successful candidate will work closely with FP&R staff, volunteers and contractors on outdoor recreation projects on state lands including sustainable trail development and maintenance, assessment and monitoring of recreation sites and promoting sustainable outdoor recreation activities.
As a Field Receration Specialist, you will have direct input into the future of recreational opportunities on public land and on public/private recreation opportunities in Vermont.
This position will serve on a multidisciplinary team of natural resource managers responsible for the stewardship of state lands. The Specialist will work closely with partner organizations and agencies to develop and review proposals for new recreation opportunities and the management of existing recreational infrastructure. You will also participate on a statewide team of natural resource and recreation managers to identify needs, priorities and help plan projects across the state.
