Below is a list of projects that have been submitted to the PTBA for bid. Please respond directly to the listing agency for further information or to submit your bid. The PTBA has no control or input into the contracting or solicitation of these projects. We list them strictly as a service to the trail industry.
Turtle Bayou Nature Preserve, TX
The extent of this project is to add approximately 1.5 miles of 6’ wide, natural-surface trails to the existing, 3.8-mile trail network. This project will complete a large loop trail and smaller inner loop on the East tract of the nature preserve and will increase the total length of recreational hiking trails to more than 5 miles.
CONE PARK – NATURAL SURFACE TRAILS PROJECT -Sioux City, Iowa
The project is located at Cone Park and Sertoma Park and includes construction of new shared-use trails, highly bike optimized bike only trails and mountain bike amenities. The Cone Park site will be located adjacent to the Cone Park Lodge and will provide trailhead access to approximately 10.5 miles of new, sustainably constructed singletrack shared use, and bike only trails, including an intermediate skills trail with prefabricated and natural skill features.
Silver Lake Loop Trail Renovation Project - UT
Complete renovation of ADA compliant trail approximately 2500' in length in Big Cottonwood Canyon at 8,700 feet of elevation, Central Wasatch, Utah. Removal of deteriorated wooden retaining structures and rebuild of a retaining wall using rock approximately 900' in length.
Trail Construction at North Fruita Desert - CO
Construct up to 15.1 miles of single track natural surface trail at the North Fruita Desert Specialized Recreation management Area.
DuPont State Recreational Forest Trail Improvements and Reroutes - NC
The purpose of this contract is to construct new trail tread along rerouted portions of trails, rework and improve sections of existing trails, and rehabilitate sections of abandoned trails in order to make these trails more sustainable in the long run.
Veterans Park Wilderness Trail - NJ
Construction of a fully designed and permitted 4000’ trail along a mountain slope in the Township’s Veterans Park.
Keweenaw Point Trail Phase 3 - Trail Section 1 - MI
The Project consists of construction of a new multi-use trail including, but not necessarily limited to, path construction, boardwalk construction, trail armoring, berm installation, bridge installation, and installation of picnic tables, benches, and bike racks.
Central Idaho Trail Construction
The Wood River Land Trust is accepting proposals for the construction of 1,471.54 linear feet of new trails and 1,573.56 linear feet of widening/refurbishing existing trails.
Bitterroot National Forest Trail Opening - MT
BBC is currently accepting bids for a service contract for Trail Opening on approximately 140 miles of trails throughout the Montana portion of the BNF, outside of designated Wilderness areas. The type of work includes: “Logging Out” all downed or leaning trees within the clearing limits (width and height); “Loose Rock Removal” of all rock larger than 6” from the trail tread; and “Drainage Clearing” of all drainage structures.
Planning Multi-modal trails in Fremont County, Colorado
Creating a complete plan that outlines possible options for trail routes in the byway region, specifically continue a trail from Mountain View Park in Cripple Creek down to Red Canyon Park in Fremont County. Options for OHVs on or along Shelf Road corridor should be studied.
Park City Dirt Jump Park Redesign and Build - Notice of Request for (Non-bid) Proposals
The City has the desire to redesign and build a sustainable park that meets applicable industry and safety standards which, once built, requires less maintenance over time with more manageable surfaces, such as an asphalt or hard surfaced pump track, beginner through advanced jump lines, the addition of durable lips, and skills section.

COTA is seeking bid proposals from qualified Design-Build Trail Contractor to provide professional services to re-construct portions of Bike Park 242.
COTA - Phils Skills Area - OR
This RFP is for the re-construction of the Phils Trailhead skills area and pump track in the DNF near Bend, Oregon. The skills area and pump track have deteriorated and are not fulfilling the needs of riders. The goal is to rebuild the skills area and pump track. There are three sections: (1) the pump track; (2) skills area that currently has a large section of rolls - this will have skinnies, rock gardens, and rock/wood up-and-overs when rebuilt; and (3) a progressive jump zone.
COTA - Royal Flush Boulder Placement - OR
This RFP is for the transport and placement of approximately 120 boulders in the Deschutes National Forest to define appropriate parking areas and to prevent parking in undesirable locations. The work site is between Sunriver and Bend, Oregon. This project is connected to a larger effort to connect the Royal Flush trail to the Afternoon Delight trail.
COTA - Wanoga Infield Skills Area - OR
This RFP is for the re-construction of the Wanoga in-field pump track in the DNF near Bend, Oregon. The pump track has deteriorated and is hard to maintain. The goal is to rebuild the pump track as a skills area with 3 to 4 distinct lines: Progressive jump lines and Drop zone with progressive sized drops. An easy return climbing route will also be included.
Hundred Acre Wood Trail Construction Project, Phase I - OR
Project Description: Construction of approximately three (3) miles of biking trails and two (2) miles of hiking trails on city-owned property, commonly known as the Hundred Acre Wood.
EAST Trail Master Plan - Elkins, WV
The City of Elkins seeks an experienced natural service trail planning and design team to master plan bike optimized trail systems on three properties (236 acres total) and design and flag up to 10 miles of bike optimized trails as a shovel-ready demonstration project.
West of Cascade Reroute - Superior Hiking Trail - MN
This reroute is about ⅔ miles long, with the goal of moving the trail upstream and away
from a failed bridge to a location that is less severe that will require a much smaller
structure to cross.
