Project Title: Development of a Gravel and Bikepacking Route Network in the New River Gorge Region

Short Description (25-30 words): The Fayette Raleigh Metropolitan Planning Organization, in partnership with the WVU Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative (OEDC) and regional stakeholders, is seeking a qualified consultant or firm to design and develop a comprehensive gravel and bikepacking route network throughout the New River Gorge Region of West Virginia, encompassing Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers Counties. The project aims to connect key communities and recreation hubs across the region, promote sustainable tourism, and enhance outdoor recreation opportunities for residents and visitors alike. This effort will complement ongoing initiatives such as the New River Gorge Ride Center and regional trail system expansions within the Appalachian Heartlands Thriving Communities Program.
