OVERVIEW:
Leon County is seeking the services of a qualified contractor to conduct Trail Assessment of the J.R. Alford Greenway, Tallahassee, Florida.
Purpose: To solicit proposals to implement a provision in the J. R. Alford Greenway Land Management Plan (2013) directing the County to conduct a trail assessment “to determine best use and layout of existing and potential new trails” (Activity 6.1.3). In addition, the County is required to “develop design, access, construction, and maintenance criteria for existing and new maintained trails” (Activity 6.1.4). The assessment will guide operations and funding efforts to create a sustainable trail system that is properly signed, maintainable by the County, located on the land in a manner that is environmentally responsible, and serves a variety of user groups. Because improvements will likely be phased and funded over time the assessment should include a suggested phasing plan based on greatest need, user group/volunteer input and involvement, existing County resources and potential funding opportunities, etc. The respondent chosen to conduct this assessment may also present proposals to design and/or construct future trail improvements as part of a separate project.
