Below is a list of projects that have been submitted to the PTBA for bid. Please respond directly to the listing agency for further information or to submit your bid. The PTBA has no control or input into the contracting or solicitation of these projects. We list them strictly as a service to our members and the trail building industry.
Conversion of Harrison Hollow Loop Trail to an all-weather trail and increasing length of trail by approximately 1,200 feet. Trail is located via Harrison Hollow Lane off Bogus Basin Road in N. Boise.
This multi-agency project between University Place, Lakewood and Pierce County will fulfill a long-standing community desire to connect the cities of University Place and Lakewood, via a pedestrian walking trail.
The project will consist of constructing approximately 11 miles of trails in the Zuni Mountains of the Mt. Taylor Ranger District.
The Enchanted Circle Trails Association (ECTA) seeks a qualified contractor to plan and construct a rock retaining wall, ramp, and stairs to replace the current structure at the Devisadero Trailhead in Taos, New Mexico. This new structure, around 47 feet long and six feet wide, will rise gradually towards the “Welcome to Taos” sign and incorporate a ramp with side steps. The construction will employ natural rocks sourced locally or commercially for a visually seamless appearance that blends with the natural surroundings. The project must be finished by December 31, 2024.
The project consists of the Construction of the Pilot Hill/Pole Mountain Connector Trail Phases 2A and 2B on the Pole Mountain Unit of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland, near Laramie, Wyoming.
MWCD is asking for proposals to develop a master trails plan that would outline future trail development within the district. MWCD is a political subdivision located in eastern Ohio and was created for flood control and mitigation. MWCD manages over 42,000 acres of land and 16,000 acres of water spread throughout 10 reservoirs.
The Waterfall to Ptarmigan Bridges and Trail Construction Project is for the supply and installation of 2 pre-engineered steel trail bridges, spanning approximately 50 feet across Waterfall Creek and 80 feet across Ptarmigan Creek, and for the construction of approximately 2.8 miles of new trail between these bridges on the Chugach National Forest north of Seward, Alaska. Trail construction methodology will follow a linear grading model where design features are guided by specifications listed in the attached Appendix A, Scope of Work, but final features are determined in the field during construction by the contractor with final approval by the USDA Forest Service (FS) Representative.
COGGS (Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores) invites proposals for the rehabilitation,
widening, and necessary water management for approximately ±4,000 feet of existing bike-optimized, machine-built singletrack. Builder will need to follow Specification 15 in the “Trail Specification Matrix”. This trail segment is vital as it will seamlessly connect with a newly constructed “Universally Accessible Trail” scheduled for completion in the summer of 2024. The primary objective of this maintenance project is to create a fully inclusive loop accessible to all mountain bike riders, including those with adaptive bikes.
This project, Phase 2, will connect to Phase 1 on both ends and make not only the Buckeye Trail connection but also bring together existing campgrounds, parking areas, and other various points of interest.
Shaw Park in the City of Williamsport, PA has an RFP for design and engineering services for a pump track/skills park.
Great Works Regional Land Trust is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the renovation of an existing recreational hiking trail at the Bauneg Beg Mountain Conservation Area in North Berwick, Maine.

Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified professionals for the Bedford County (county-wide) Master Trail Connectivity Study.
The National Forest Foundation and U.S. Forest Service invite experienced trail planning consultants to submit quotes for the development of a Holistic and Sustainable Trails Plan for Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (MNTP). The Trails Plan will be the roadmap to develop and maintain a shared use network of non-motorized trails that span the 15,000+ acres at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie and increase connectivity with adjacent communities and other public lands.
The Rothrock State Forest- Musser Gap trail construction project was developed through recommendations made in a forest-wide trail assessment, the purpose of which was to provide options and recommendations toward decreasing the natural surface trail density and visitor crowding in the Forest and creating a more manageable, sustainable trail system.
PotoMBA is seeking qualified contractors for approximately 3.85 miles of backcountry trail relocations, 0.5 miles of heavy maintenance, 0.22 miles of trail closure/restoration, and the construction of two short trail bridges on the Potawatomi Trail near Pinckney, MI
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to evaluate and select qualified natural surface trail building contractors (i.e., Builders or Contractors) to build and refurbish trails of various types and levels of difficulty.

The City of Mason City Iowa in conjunction with North Iowa Human Powered Trails and Destination Iowa seeks proposals to build a bike park facility which includes: Bike Park, Youth Bike Playground, Progressive skill Pump track, various single track trails.
The Superior Hiking Trail Association is looking for a contractor to install Some boardwalk and puncheon in Hovland, MN. The boardwalk uses steel pan footings that accept a 4x4 post. Lumber and materials have been purchased by the SHTA.
The Trail and Bike Contractor will be responsible for building a multi-use mountain bike 3-mile trail and a 3-mile pedestrian walking trail within Camp Jordan Park on the city-owned 55 acres located north of and adjacent to Camp Jordan Park.
MORATA has received approval to construct a number of trails and we are looking for a project manager (PM) to manage our project from start to finish. All trail construction must be completed in 2 summers (trail completion to be complete no later than September 30th, 2025). The PM will be responsible for providing services to meet the deliverables as outlined in 2.0 Scope of Work of the RFP.
Approximately 20-25 miles of natural and improved surface trails which will include both bicycle and hiking uses, are proposed. The primary purpose of which is to provide an excellent outdoor experience for visitors with a range of abilities. The Project also includes design, procurement and installation of Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) or similar, bridges as a part of the trail system.
Construction of approximately 7.5 miles of beginner to intermediate level mountain bike trails conforming to International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) design guidelines and standards.
2. Construction of approximately 2.5 miles of pedestrian hiking trails conforming to Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MnDNR) Trail Planning, Design, and Development Guidelines and US Forest Service (USFS) Outdoor Recreation Accessibility Guidelines.
Requesting bids for approx. 350' hiking only trail descending from the Virgin River canyon rim to canyon floor approx. 150' below in LaVerkin, Utah. Dark, basalt rock forms canyon rim and abundant fissured basalt rocks litter slopes below. Looking to use this native material to build a combination of trail tread and steps although open to other options.
Bitterroot Backcountry Cyclists (BBC) is partnering with the USDA Forest Service to complete trail clearing on the Bitterroot National Forest (BNF). BBC is currently accepting bids for a service contract for Trail Opening on approximately 120 miles of trails throughout the Montana portion of the BNF, outside of designated Wilderness areas.
Construct a new 5.8-mile, bike optimized trail system consisting of a mix of beginner through advanced singletrack, flowy gravity trail, and gravity jump lines.
Seeking partners to implement reconstruction of the Bear Creek National Recreation Trail on the Ouray Ranger District. This project prioritizes the protection of natural resources, mitigation of safety hazards, and keeping trail users on the trail. The cope of work focuses on constructing new retaining walls, maintaining and restoring failed retaining walls, installing or hardening shallow stream ford and gully crossings, replacing the railings on pedestrian timber trail bridge, and improving drainage.
