Job Title: Trail Builder

Job Description: Job duties and Essentials

Ground crew will complete a variety of tasks, primarily trail finishing and grooming. Machine Crew will complete a variety of tasks, primarily bench cutting across terrain and machine shaping/finishing. Crew also constructs stone and/or timber trail features. Crew members will be able to review plans, ask questions for clarification, and complete work accordingly with minimal oversight. Maintains a tradition of high-quality trail work, professionalism, preparedness, and positive attitude throughout the day. No matter the role, we are all one team working towards building unforgettable experiences.

Reports to Lead Builder/Project Manager and works as a part of the overall team for group success. Ensures compliance with all laws and company policies, with respect to workplace safety and works to maintain a zero-incident safety record. Maintains tools and machines in good working order at all times. Travels to locations, spending as little as 2 and up to 24 weeks per project, living on location, with housing and meals provided. Works an average of 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime as needed.

Ground crew starts at 15, operators start at 20, team leads and owner/operators pay doe. 

Working Conditions

This is an outdoor career. You must be comfortable being outdoors in remote locations and wilderness, sometimes without any services available. The primary environment for these roles are outside, with a high exposure level to cold and heat, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, wildlife, and all that Mother Nature has to offer.

The degree of strenuous activity within this role is high, but you won’t need a gym membership! Lifting a weight of 50 pounds or more throughout the day is common. Hiking in and out of the job site is common, at times across uneven, challenging terrain. Riding bikes is also common, we are rider born, based, and built; so be prepared to ride what we build and find. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to 
perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Able to work in variable backcountry weather conditions and environment, pack in/out.
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Valid drivers license and good driving history, clear background.

Education/Experience

High school diploma (or equivalent) required, with higher education desired.
2 years professional experience building/maintaining trail, or 4 years volunteer building/maintaining; or 3 years experience in construction trade(s) desired.
Equipment operators desired.
