Job Description: OBP Trailworks, LLC is looking to hire a Project Supervisor beginning Spring 2020.
OBP is a professional trail contracting company based in Turner, Maine, owned and operated by Jed Talbot.

Position Start Date: April 27, 2020 - flexible
Position End Date: December 4, 2020 - flexible
Hiring Schedule: Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Position Description:
The Project Supervisor (PS) is a field based position with a focus on project organization and team management. Project Supervisor will work directly with Jed Talbot to establish productivity goals, coordinate logistics and maintain OBP field standards. The supervisor will work alongside the team members on 35-40 hours work weeks. The general schedule is four 10 hour days on, followed by three days off. This schedule is subject to change with notice, project dependent. Project sites will be located in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Project Supervisor will report directly to Jed, and act as primary liaison between team members and administration. Proactive and regular communication is expected. Some communication before or after the work day will be necessary.
Position Requirements Include:
- Minimum 1 year experience with project and team management
- Minimum 3 years experience with varied trail maintenance and construction techniques, and/or relevant manual labor
- Ability and willingness to work safely, efficiently, and unsupervised while outside in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to carry a 50 pack for 10 miles over rough terrain
- Physical ability to sustain long days of intensive manual labor
- Experience and comfort with being in the woods for long periods of time, sometimes alone
- Flexibility with work schedule
- History of safe working practices
- Reliable personal vehicle for transportation to/from project sites
- Personal camping gear (tent, sleeping pad, bag, headlamp, etc)
- Experience with a variation of backcountry trail building techniques, such as stone staircases (strongly preferred)
- Experience with equipment operation, such as skid steer loaders and mini-excavators (preferred)
- Wilderness medical training (preferred)
- Chainsaw safety training (preferred)

- Ability to execute a high standard of work while being mindful of production rates
- Capacity to both take and provide direction and constructive criticism
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew members, and owner
- Desire to contribute to a shared community environment
- Capacity to act as a respectful, professional representative of OBP to clients and partners
