Job Title: Trail Crew Member/ Equipment Operator

Job Description: South Puget Sound Region is actively seeking two Recreation Crew Members, Natural Resource Technician 3 (NRT3) positions for the Snoqualmie Unit Recreation Program. These are project, full-time positions, anticipated appointment at this time is July 2019 thru November 2020 with possible funding thru 2022. The duty station is in North Bend, Washington. The Snoqualmie Corridor encompasses approximately 55,000 acres of DNR-managed state trust lands and natural areas. This includes working forests such as Tiger Mountain and Raging River State Forests, which provide a stream of revenue to public schools and other trust beneficiaries through timber harvest and other forest products. Natural Areas include the Mount Si, Middle Fork Snoqualmie, West Tiger Mountain Natural Resources Conservation Areas (NRCAs) and the Rattlesnake Mountain Scenic Area, which provide protection to some of the state's most scenic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and rare plant and animal habitats.

These positions will work as team members of a four-person crew with on the ground implementation of new recreation trail development, support recreation facility renovation and construction projects, and periodically assist with recreation maintenance efforts in the popular Snoqualmie Corridor. The Snoqualmie Corridor includes approximately 160 miles of non-motorized trails, 13 recreations sites and over 1 million annual user visits per year. This position leads a team developing some of the most exciting and heavily visited new trail systems in the state, with over 70 new trail miles opening to the public since 2012.
